If you don't mind the long run to the Land Cut you can be rewarded with redfish and drum. Anchor and fish the west drop off with either live or dead shrimp. When the bite stops move down the cut and try again. For trout troll along the edge of the Land Cut with live shrimp under a cork. Wading Rocky Slough with Bass Assassins morning glory on a 1/16th oz will yield some good redfish and large trout.

With the gas prices going up you don't have to travel to far. Good solid trout have been staying close in the upper Laguna Madre and live shrimp seems to be the go to bait under a Cajun Thunder popping cork. If you like throwing soft plastics, Bass Assassins in fire tiger on a 1/16th oz. jig head has been working good. Look for red fish in shallow water using the same methods.
